Camera Shopping…
I’m feeling the need to buy a new camera. I really like taking photos, and feel that it’s time for me to “graduate” to a digital SLR. Since I don’t foresee winning the lottery in the near future, I’d like to keep the price affordable since I know I’ll want add-ons. On the other hand, I’m not going on a cruise in the near future and that money can go toward a new camera. (I still don’t know what I’m going to do over Spring Break in a couple of weeks or so – probably to San Diego.)
I’m torn between a Canon Digital Rebel XT and a Nikon D50. I presently use a low tech digital Nikon, and would like to keep it as a “back-up” for everyday use. I’ve read lots of reviews, but the one that seems to be a “turning factor” for me is Editors’ Top Prosumer Digital SLRs.
Any suggestions?

One source is Editors choice. I’m allways very sceptical to those judgements. They may be “paid”, or have their old preferences. They may try the different cameras in too short time…
So I stick to the buyers judgement. Most internet shops do have buyers comments and judgements.
With other words, I can not give you an honest advice.

PS. I’m looking for one myself. Then in the upper SLR class I think…
PS 2: I’ve read the Isabel Allende Book. I found it fascinating. And the life and works of Frida is blasting story. It was an exhibit of her works here some years ago, and I became a fan of her works. But what a struggled life.
Not surprisingly, I’m a Canon fan. The new Rebel XTi looks wonderful- I believe it’s a 10 MP. I know some people knock the Rebel XT saying it looks cheap, but I’ve been happy with mine. I wrote a post about the Rebel XT a while ago and included the details of the Consumer Reports rating.
I must say that either one would be a great camera!
PS-
Love the Anne Taintor picture- I have this as a magnet!
