The Amphora Fountain at the Getty Center
The Amphora Fountain is carved into travertine walls and uses ancient form to create a modern grotto. Water flows through the occulus of the Amphora Fountain from a runnel in the terrace above.

This has such a fascinating look to it. I love the shape!
Found your blog through a comment on my daughter’s – Four Feet More. She had convinced me to start a blog as a journal of sorts, more also to relay some of my family’s history as a way of preserving it for her and her kids. We’re originally from the desert and I LOVE your banner photo!!
Oh my, that’s gorgeous!
I played too
Wow, gorgeous shapes. Very architectural. But what do you expect at the Getty Center.
Very cool shots.
Happy hunting
I’d love to visit the Getty Center
Nice take on today’s theme!
Wow, that’s amazing. Must be something to see in person. Great choice for The Hunt. Really unusual.
Very neat & interesting. I had to really look at it…. unique.
Wow! I’ve never seen anything like that before!
I was at the Getty in July. What an amazing place! Great pictures!
Never heard of it – looks amazing – thanks for sharing!
Btw: Don’t pay attention to my flag – I’m just on vacation is Sweden – still a Norwegian you know:-)
That is wonderful. I have never heard of it. So unusual and beautiful.
