He’s a Pirate!

YouTube Preview Image

Last night Cali and I snuggled up on the sofa (with popcorn and soda) and watched “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Some time ago, I had bought the DVD at a video store that was closing in our local mall. (and been sitting in the wrapper on my video shelf collecting dust)

When the movie first came out, the director of Special Education had told me she had seen it. When I asked her if she liked it, her response was: “Johnny Depp – oh baby, oh baby, oh baby!”

The movie was entertaining enough, (the guy gets the girl and the pirate gets the ship) but I really loved the music score by Klaus Badelt. When the credits are rolled at the end of the film, you hear this amazing composition that conjures up images of tall ships on the high seas…

Sounds like a great, peaceful evening. And Johnny Depp is definitely good on the eyes! I spent my evening watching kids movies and chasing my grandkids around. Fun, to be sure, but certainly not peaceful or relaxing!

Sounds like you and Cali had a great evening. The score is wonderful, isn’t it? I find that the music can make or break a movie for me.

I haven’t seen 1, but I did see 2, and I liked it. I guess I don’t get the Johnny Depp hype though. I can think of MUCH sexier actors :-)
