Today I had an appointment at the dermatologist to recheck some “sun spots” I had taken off in May. I had another small one that was immediately “zapped” with liquid nitrogen. Post “zapping” I inquired about what could make me look my age short of a face lift.
I was seen by the nurse practitioner since I prefer her to the actual dermatologist. A. is extremely nice, and very skilled - she also goes to my church. We talked about Botox and Restylane. When I asked A. if she had used either one her response was, “Are you kidding - of course!”
She said Botox could be done today, but Restylane takes a longer appointment since the area has to be numbed for an hour before. More than a little nervous, I said “let’s do it!” So, I had Botox injected into my forehead where I have what is know as “elevens” - parallel frown lines. I’m going back in a couple of weeks to have the Restylane around my mouth and possibly in the “elevens” if they don’t flatten out completely.
Am I vain? Maybe… However, I have extremely fair skin that burns easily and (unfortunately) wrinkles easily also. I’ve started getting the “senior discount” (not the fifty-five one, the sixty-two one) and it’s depressing. No, I won’t get a face lift. Yes, the total process is going to hover around $1,000.00.
It’s a deal if it helps me to feel better about myself. One day I will be old - but not today!

It’s just another “Manic Monday,” hosted by Fleur de Lisa and asking those thought provoking questions!
What kinds of scenes in movies make you cry?
If you met your clone - someone with your exact personality traits, likes and dislikes, etc… - would you want to be friends with him/her? Why or why not?
What is your biggest challenge in life right now?

I met up with Steve this weekend for a “twirl around the dance floor.” He actually put down his Apple long enough to boogie down with me!

Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do. ~ Helen Keller
Sunflowers make me happy, and they’re my favorite flowers. It’s odd, because yellow and orange aren’t my favorite colors. Something in sunflowers bring out the “happy” in me.
This photo was taken south of Durango, Colorado - a few miles north of the the New Mexico border. The day was cloudy and there was a light rain. I actually turned my RV around so I could spend some time photographing the field. I spent quite a while just standing in the field and photographing the sunflowers - feeling the gentle rain and soaking up the “happy” of the sunflowers. Grace filled moments are a natural part of life - we only have to be open to the experience…
