No Turning Back…

botox

Today I had an appointment at the dermatologist to recheck some “sun spots” I had taken off in May. I had another small one that was immediately “zapped” with liquid nitrogen. Post “zapping” I inquired about what could make me look my age short of a face lift.

I was seen by the nurse practitioner since I prefer her to the actual dermatologist. A. is extremely nice, and very skilled – she also goes to my church. We talked about Botox and Restylane. When I asked A. if she had used either one her response was, “Are you kidding – of course!”

She said Botox could be done today, but Restylane takes a longer appointment since the area has to be numbed for an hour before. More than a little nervous, I said “let’s do it!” So, I had Botox injected into my forehead where I have what is know as “elevens” – parallel frown lines. I’m going back in a couple of weeks to have the Restylane around my mouth and possibly in the “elevens” if they don’t flatten out completely.

Am I vain? Maybe… However, I have extremely fair skin that burns easily and (unfortunately) wrinkles easily also. I’ve started getting the “senior discount” (not the fifty-five one, the sixty-two one) and it’s depressing. No, I won’t get a face lift. Yes, the total process is going to hover around $1,000.00.

It’s a deal if it helps me to feel better about myself. One day I will be old – but not today!

Good for you!! Because I’m a greasy Italian, I don’t have too many wrinkles yet. My issue is old lady neck and I don’t think there’s anything short of plastic surgery to fix that. And I’m no way ready to go through surgery. I’ll just keeping jutting my chin out and holding my head high to smooth out the flab!

I say whatever works for you- go for it! I’m needle-phobic so I can’t foresee me undergoing any of that in my future. Good luck on it!
