Spring Break…
I can’t complain – I’ve already had my “Spring Break” – albeit early. This week I’m staying home and tending to some “run of the mill” duties. OK – I’m staying home, but not being very productive. Yesterday I had a visit with the dermatologist for a “zapping session.” It seems that if you have fair skin and live in the Southwest, you develop a “relationship” with your dermatologist. I had five “zappings,” which makes me angry since I wear a SPF 30 sunscreen every day and a dorky SPF 50 hat. Ouch, ouch, ouch… I also found that botox is going up $40.00 on April 1st, but I did get mega samples of Renova (with my prescription.
Afterwards, I decided to check out “Desert Yoga,” for something call “Hot Yoga.” It appears that you do a series of twenty-six Yoga poses in a heated room. It’s said to be the most beneficial for your health and to rid the body of toxins. So, I had (a very bad lunch) next door to the studio at of all places “The Planet.” (It’s too bad that art doesn’t imitate life.)
Next, I went shopping for a Yoga mat and some pants to wear to class. Afterwards, the wind picked up and I knew I was in trouble when I started wheezing. The last time I went to my internist, she listened to my lungs and said I had the delay (in blowing out) that about 80% of the population has here this time of year. I went home for my Albuterol and Claritin, feeling pretty icky. No Yoga for me last night.
I’ve actually stayed in bed all day, (out of the dust, etc…) and just crawled out for a veggie burger and a glass of Pinot Gris. The wheezing is pretty much gone (after a couple more hits on the Albuterol), but I have the feeling that a Mack truck ran over me, and I still have that “tickle” cough…
So much for having fun on Spring Break…

I especially love the comment about “The Planet”. I hope you feel better.
is this a form of Bikram yoga?? I have to drive almost an hour to do this yoga!
I’ve heard of hot yoga before but never tried it. Hmmm….sounds interesting. Not like I have time to pursue another anything but food for thought.
As for the zapping sessions I’m dreading those too. I have a friend of mine who just had a series herself. The sun and the altitude are just a bad combination for any amount of sunblock.
A glass of Pinot Gris is not the worst.
Talking about Skin and Sun Block: You should have seen the people working at Salar Grande in NW Argentina. “Negriods” even they wear face masks. But the clair air and elevation of about 13.ooo feets creates it’s patterns.
If you want, join my trip to some cities/towns around the world I have visited starting with the letter “A”
You sure managed to do quite a bit! I’ve heard of that “hot” yoga and have wanted to do it for a while now. Is it grueling?
My daughter was also sick most of her Spring Break. Must be a teacher thing! Hope you feel better soon.
