Let’s Talk About Wine…

Pinot Noir specifically – from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I admit it – I have a love affair going on with Oregon Pinot Noir’s. So much that I “stocked up” (mostly at the terrific wine department at Fred Meyer’s in the Hollywood District of Portland) before coming home.

Sandi had asked, “Did you ever get the wine?” The answer is “yes” and then some. I ended up with four cases of assorted Oregon Pinot Noir. (Well, I did give a bottle to a guy who worked in the wine department at Trader Joe’s in Albuquerque on my way home. It seems that he’s transferred from Portland and was missing Oregon Pinot Noirs. When I told him I had four cases in my RV he seriously asked if I wanted to sell some. I figured giving him a bottle was good for my karma, and told him to do something nice for someone else.)

The greatest amount I purchased of any one wine was Erath 2006 Pinot Noir. It’s very “drinkable” and was a steal at $161.00/case with no sales tax. My brother took me to a bar in the Pearl District where he lives in Portland. The bartender poured me a taste of a Sonoma Pinot and I opted for the Willamette Valley grape.

Now your’re asking what else did I purchase? Well, you can actually see my (uncompleted) wine cellar as a WordPress plugin called WineX. The plugin displays your wine cellar on a blog page that imports data from CellarTracker. Just click on WINE CELLAR in my top toolbar to see my “collection.” It’s fun and free…

The gift of the grape – life is good! Well, at least the part that involves wine! ;-)

Spread the Love!

Very cool to see your wine cellar listed that way!

  2. WordPress has a plugin! :D That’s too funny, I think they have a plugin for everything I tell ya.

My parents can relate to your love to your love of the Willamette Valley too. I’m always mooching off their wine collection. :)

I’ll drop you a line in a couple days. My mom arrives tomorrow and I can let you know about lodging. Any chance you’re going to be ABQ in the next 10 days?

Very cool! I’m going to go check out your wine cellar.

And we share the love of those Oregon Pinot Noirs!

I just read somewhere yesterday that climate changes are starting to make Napa too warm for some types of grapes and Oregon is the next great hope. I need to find the Oregon Pinots. Like you and Lisa, I’m a pinot fan.

I’ve never been a wine drinker. It gives me a headache! Maybe because I’ve only tried MD 20/20! LOL…j/k
