Cereal?
A couple of times a week, I go to lunch at NMSU at the Taos Buffet. The cost (including tax) is $5.35. Yes, it’s the feeding grounds of the university students who have paid (or their parents) for the school year. However, I like going over to the campus and there are “stations” at the buffet.
There’s a pasta and homemade pizza station, a burger (with turkey burgers) and fries station, a deli sandwich station, a burrito/taco station, a hot selection of the day with veggies, and a nice salad bar. Not to mention the desserts from which I try to steer clear. I can eat a quick healthy meal (if I decide to do so) and the price is right. They even serve Starbucks coffee.
However, today I noticed that students were eating C*E*R*E*A*L either alone or along with their meal. Seriously, about 1/2 of the college student there were eating cereal – some with (sacrilege) chocolate milk. Don’t get me wrong – cereal is OK. I have it for breakfast sometimes, and also I’ve been known to have it for dinner if I don’t want to be bothered. Why would someone choose to have cereal for lunch when there’s so much other food around? Gee, I really feel old…

I eat cereal all the time, though I don’t go for the sugary stuff. I like granola
I love cereal, as does Ian. I don’t know if I’d take it along with my lunch though. But I eat it as a snack. I like Kashi GoLean or the new Special K protein cereal. And of course, Grape Nut Flakes. I adore those.
The buffet sounds great. I guess cereal would be okay if nothing else was available – but not with that selection!
Ahhh…the days of cereal for dinner!! I’m getting old too! I am now lactose intolerant and cannot drink milk anymore! ::sigh::: Come visit me, Diva….http://chattingforever.blogspot.com
We eat Frosted Mini wheats or granola all the time…it makes a great snack!
Until I moved to New Mexico, cereal was always always a morning thing. But here, it seems people eat all the time anytime. And of course now that I have a toddler he’ll eat anytime too. So I’m beginning to see a new trend in the world of cereal.
That’s a great picture though. You’ve totally made the cereal look surreal and ghostly too.
hello…
wonderful…
