Santa Fe – the “City Different”
I’ve been in Santa Fe, NM for the past few days. Linda and Luz are both fellow Ottmar Liebert “fanmencas” as well as “Flickrites.”
I drove up on Wednesday, picked up Luz at the Albuquerque airport on Thursday and we all went to the concert that evening. The concert was very nice, and there was a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception at an art gallery across from the concert venue afterwards.
Friday, Luz and I drove up to visit Chimayó to visit El Santuario de Chimayó. We had a great time visiting the church, walking about the town and an old cemetery, and hiking to the top of a mountain that had a cross placed that is aligned with the church entrance.
Yesterday, we went to visit the Upaya Zen Center and the lovely grounds, hiked down by the Santa Fe river, and visited the downtown plaza. Last night everyone came over to where my friend and I are parked at the Elk’s Lodge for dinner. I had picked up some Chimayó red chile and created a rub for the steaks with chile and garlic pepper. Luz had brought a bottle of Texas wine, and I had two bottles of St. Clair Nebbolio. The weather didn’t cooperate completely, but later in the evening we were able to sit outside and watch the full moon while sipping piñon coffee with Kahula and brandy.
Today we’re off to the farmer’s market and then to Albuquerque to drop off Luz at the airport. However, not before a trip to Sadie’s!

yippee….the journey has begun….sounds great so far….and you look like a princess….
I am greeeeen with envy! Looks like you are having great fun. I know that the companionship must be delightful. Share photos!
