Salsa!
Posted by Desert Diva on Saturday, August 8th, 2009
You apparently can’t reside in the Desert Southwest and not know how to make fresh salsa. I decided that it was time I learned – especially since I purchased a Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus.
It turned out delicious, and here’ s the recipe in case you want to “try your hand” at salsa making.
Desert Diva’s Homemade Salsa
- 2 lbs. fresh Tomatoes (I like a mix of Field and Roma.)
- 1 large Onion
- 5 cloves of Garlic
- 1 small bunch of Cilantro (Adjust to individual taste.)
- 3 small Jalapeño Peppers (Remove seeds and inside stems.)
- 2 Limes (Juice extracted.)
- 1 teaspoon ground Cumin
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Mix ingredients together in a blender or food processor. Chilling overnight helps flavors to blend and intensify. Enjoy!

is this what makes you so pretty?
Great presentation on the photo and LOOKS quite tasty! Wish I could dip a chip about now!
I succumb to being lazy and buy my salsa most of the time but I will surely have to give this a try in the near future. Thanks for posting the ingredients/recipe
Yum! I also love green salsa made with tomatillos. It’s super easy and I find myself using chips as spoons to lap it up!
Just used your recipe & OMG! I thought that I made good salsa before…I was wrong. This is excellent! Many thanks.
