It’s that wonderful time of the year.  However, please excuse me if I don’t sound all “cheery and happy.”  Don’t get me wrong – life isn’t horrible.  However, sometimes it’s the “little stuff” that seems to drive you crazy…

I had a quiet Thanksgiving.  I was going to go to a group dinner, but a combination of a “pre-Thanksgiving” task that I had to do and the lingering allergy icky-ness I was drained.  Resting was the right thing to do – I’m much better.  I didn’t even have turkey (which I love) but rationed out a pumpkin pie each morning for breakfast during my break.

In my little part of the United States, we’re finally getting rain.  Actually, some people spotted some little flakes of snow in El Paso.  However, it’s been dark and dreary all day – a foreshadowing of what I hope is not the advent of a nuclear winter.  Along with the rain, I noticed that I have a nice little leak in one of my spare bedrooms.  Not big mind you, so I put a hand towel on the window sill.  It can’t be fixed until the rain stops anyway…

My Delphi XM receiver developed the dreaded “black screen,” and I finally got hold of the warranty department for a replacement.  I M*I*S*S my XM satellite radio.  :-(   I was contemplating buying a 32GB iPod Touch, but recently found that our #*(_^ (insert curse word of your choice) health insurance doesn’t cover many items at 100 percent anymore.  Therefore, I shelled out $112.00 for my bone density scan and another  $50.00 for wrist x-rays.  Oh yeah, and the insurance premium “increased” this year.

Later this afternnoon, I went to get my Subway Buffalo Chicken salad (I want to lose five pounds.) and then I went to a gas station for a soda.  There was a long line and suddenly a guy walks in and places himself about halfway down the line and to the right – kinda like when a lane is closed and the traffic squeezes over.  Guess who he finally cuts in front of in line?

Lord help me I turned to him and said, “You do NOT  think you’re going to cut in front of me and everyone else in this line do you?”  (He had told the clerk what he wanted and put his $5.00 on the counter.)  He mumbled some “not very nice words” and left.  I think if “tar and feathers” had been available this man would have been a candidate.

I’m a nice person.  However, don’t EVER try to take advantage of or humiliate me.  “Challenge” is putting it mildly.

And how was YOUR Monday?  ;-)

Spread the Love!

I like the pumpkin pie for breakfast! My breakfast of choice these days is cold leftover stuffing.

It always seems that we wind up with a heap o’ piss-offers at the same time and it truly can get a person down. I always try to remember what a friend once told me when we were dealing with an unpleasant person. He said, “Just remember, when you wake up in the morning you’re NOT that person!”

My Monday back to work after a week’s vacation last week was LONG! Of course having insomnia the night before didnt’ help and it creeped up again last night so needless to say so far my butt has been dragging. So, yeah the little stuff has been annoying me during this holiday season, which came around to quickly! I’m ready for the time off again in a few weeks but not for the madness of the holiday season. I could go on and on but don’t want to bore all with the details.
