Evergreen Cemetery – Leadville, CO
The Delaware Hotel in Leadville hosts a tour of the Evergreen Cemetery. The two hour tour includes a docent who tells stories of the more “colorful” previous residents of Leadville, and coffee and dessert afterwards.
Our docent Roger did not disappoint, and came dressed in period costume. He regaled us with stories of miners, star-crossed lovers, as well as dance hall girls and assorted “bad guys.”
The tour ended with coffee and banana bread pudding at the beautiful Delaware Hotel. It seemed an appropriate way to spend Friday the 13th!
