Twelfth Night…
Tonight is the celebration of Twelfth Night or The Feast of the Epiphany. Not to devalue the birth of Christ (and my struggles as a “faithful agnostic”), but I’m so relived that the “Christmas season” is formally over. Now my life (such as it is) can return to normal (whatever that is).
The Christmas season is never a happy one for me (revelations are in a “protected post”), and every year I’m amazed that I come through on the “other side” virtually unscathed. OK, in all honesty it takes me until summer to revive my spirit…
Nevertheless, my spirit seems to plummet when I have “expectations.” I think the key (at least for me) is to let go of my “expectations” and live my life in the manner in which I please. Wish me luck with that… ![]()

For me, it’s just cold winter that gets to me, I can ignore the holiday BS. As for expectations, if you don’t have any you won’t be disappointed.

Kelly & are not Christmas people either & it is always a big relief when we get to the other side of all the ga ga goo goo hoopla. Agnostic type folks as well & Christmas day for us is no different than any other day of the year, for any reason.

You have to let go of expectations from others, that way you protect yourself. Live life for you and you alone.
