Southern New Mexico Wine Festival

The \"Star\" of the Day!

Ah, summer!  OK, it’s “technically” still Spring, but we in Southern New Mexico have only two seasons – hot and cold.  😉

What does one do on a warm day over a Memorial Day weekend?

Well, the Southern New Mexico Wine Festival is always a big crowd pleaser.  There are sixteen wine tasting tents, lots of high fat/calorie junk food, (We’re talkin’ turkey legs, corn-on-the- cob, funnel cakes, etc…) a myriad of arts and crafts, live entertainment, and of course “people watching!”

Roxanne Waits Patiently...

Roxanne  announces that “she’s ready” for wine tasting…

This could be messy...

I suppose that for the “wine challenged” this could be a good thing to keep track of your wine glass, but I’d probably just slosh good vino all over my shirt…

What a Crowd!

Wine lovers were out in “full force” on this beautiful Sunday afternoon…

Wine Conversation...

OK, is this a serious philosophical discussion, or are these folks trying to tally up how many glasses they’ve consumed?  You be the judge!  😉

The Lauren Ellis Trio

The Lauren Ellis Trio from Austin, Texas provided some great sounds!

Shake Your Groove Thing!

Yes, some folks danced protectively with their wine glass in hand.  No glass = no wine at the festival!

Vinos de los Muertos

Dead Wine?

As you can see, people flocked in droves to sample some “dead” wine.  OK, folks flocked in droves around ALL the wine tents…

All in all, a lovely afternoon in Southern New Mexico.  How was YOUR Sunday?

Share the Love!

Well, come on down Contessa! It was a lot of fun and we “did” do our best to drink our share of wine. We actually didn’t try the Vino de los Muertos since another vineyard (St. Clair) grows the grapes. We took the short cut and just headed to St. Clair first! 😉

I Love a good wine tasting event. We have a few of them in my neck of the woods. This one looks fun but very crowded. Oh well, after a few poors, guess it doesnt matter!

Roxanne and I went on the most crowded day – Sunday. It was still fun even though we had to wait a bit in the lines…

  4. Cheryl, I love your blog site!! Just shared the “Living At the Walmart” (love that woman!) and ordered a copy of “A Woman’s Journey to God.” I am new to this blogging stuff.
