Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

:present: Shop Amazon – Father’s Day Shop :present:

It’s early morning here in Las Cruces…

Roxanne fluffed up her duck feathers and left to explore “The Land of Enchantment” yesterday.  It’s been lovely having her stay at “Casa de Cheryl,” and I’ll miss her company. :cry:It’s difficult to change your life and try something new, but I have confidence that Roxanne will do “swimmingly” on the road in her Prius “Spud.”

Roxanne floats out of my driveway…

Roxanne the Duck

She’s all “gussied up” for the road!   :rainbow:

Women brave enough to travel the road alone remind me of this Mary Chapin Carpenter song…

“The Way I Feel” – Mary Chapin Carpenter

I’m heading out without a tear
I’m heading out without a fight
Nothing like this empty road
To take some trouble off my mind

Had enough of sad days
Had enough of sleepless nights
I only need a tank of gas
Babe I’m going for a ride

Cause when I’m all alone on a midnight highway
There’s nothing like two hands on the wheel
And the radio playing I Won’t Back Down
Baby that’s about the way I feel

Might be gone a couple of hours
Might be gone a couple of days
I won’t know til I turn around
We’ll have to see just how it plays

All the way down 81
I’ve got some friends in Nashville
Atlanta it’s been way too long
By morning I’ll make Asheville

Cause when I’m all alone on a midnight highway
There’s nothing like two hands on the wheel
And the way the wind blows just before a rainstorm
Baby that’s about the way I feel

Don’t know if you tried to call
My phone ran out of signal
I don’t know if you miss me at all:

Cause I’m out here all alone on a midnight highway
And I’ve got both hands on the wheel
Passing darkened towns the world’s forgotten
Baby that’s about the way I feel

Just a little speck on the far horizon
Baby that’s about the way I feel
I won’t back down

Safe travels to Roxanne, and to all women traveling alone remember…

I think it should be titled, “Few who wander are lost, most are FREE”

Sure nice to be back out on the road ourselves. Wish Rox and you and everyone else a wanderful life. (sorry, could not help myself….)

      Hi Dave!

Absolutely! I’m trying to get up my “mojo” to get on the road, but it’s so hot here that it saps my energy. (105 degrees today!) My target date for leaving is next Monday! :-)

  9. Love your fun picture. With Roxi floating on down the road.

Hi! Yep, I feel my energy (and motivation) sapped by the end of the day in these temperatures. I’m usually out of town by now for the summer…
