Someone I know is “waiting for Santa.” As far as myself is concerned, Santa came to the door last night in the disguise of a Fed Ex delivery man. He brought me a new macro lens for my camera from Amazon.com!

I was quite surprised when I was taking photographs this past summer in an Oregon coastal garden and looked down to see this small tree frog!

1. Away in a manger, no room for a baby named Ted.
2. Dashing through the snow, in a long forgotten memory of when I lived in Indianapolis.
3. Hark! The herald angels say instead of just “Hi there!”
4. It’s coming on Christmas, but some people will be lonely and sad.
5. When I was small I believed in Santa Claus, though I knew it was really the “spirit” of giving that was behind the presents.
6. That Christmas magic’s brought this tale full circle once again for all.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to getting my hair colored and cut, tomorrow my plans include taking Cali to the “puppy beauty shop,” and Sunday I want to take some photographs of the Christmas lights in my neighborhood.

Little do they know, but sometimes I DO listen to my brothers - even when they comment on my weblog. Thanks Brian! I ended up purchasing a Sansa Connect mp3 player - especially for the streaming music content.

I had another “sucky” day - sometimes it’s just “what is.” I’m learning not to take evil humans, mean people , ASSHATS personally. My new “mantra?” OK, there’s another ASSHAT!

This made me smile!

I’ve had better days.  This is my post for the day (after which I’m going to bed after taking a Xanax at 2:00 p.m. and having a Bass Ale with a black bean burger for dinner).  I’m tired.  Tomorrow will be a better day.   Come here Cali and snuggle up in bed with your “mama!”

I checked the Holland America website and M. and I got a stateroom assignment with a nice upgrade! We’re in a Deluxe Verandah Outside Stateroom.

For the holidays, are you a last-minute shopper or do you shop well ahead of time?

• I don’t have a huge shopping list, so I buy most things ahead of time. I’m actually finished shopping for Christmas this year!

If you had to pick a new first name for yourself, what name would you choose?

• Names are such a part of our identity. Even though people often misspell it, I like mine “just fine.”

What’s worse, having expectations that are too high, or having no expectations at all?

• Sadly, my father used to say: “Never expect anything, then you’ll never be disappointed.” As much as I loved my father, I hated it when he said that…
